Love Still Stands

Love knows no limit to endurance,
no end to trust, no fading of hope;
it can outlast anything.
It is, in fact, the one thing
that still stands when all else has fallen.
It can never be lost.
1Cor 13
We all lose stuff.
We lose the little--books, wallets, keys.
We lose the more consequential--
people we love, jobs, relationships,
health, fortunes, houses, hope.
But God's word says that when nothing
remains that we thought would remain,
love still stands.
It doesn't end. It doesn't give up.
Love is the "the greatest of these."
Greater than hope, greater than faith--
because God is love.
And that which is exactly like God
is the essence of all we need.

As today swirls around me,
and I find myself unsure of focus,
I have to be aware of
this thing called love.
It will keep me standing
even if everything else falls down.
I desperately need a deeper revelation
of how to love more like Him.
I need His kindness, His patience,
His gentleness, His compassion,
His "keeping no record" attitude.

I just need more of Jesus.
The bottom line of every day.
