Whatever is True

Whatever is true,
whatever is worthy of respect,
whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable,
if something is excellent or praiseworthy,
think about these things.
And the God of peace will be with you.
Phil 4:8,9

If I inventoried my thoughts each day,
I would find many that didn't
go through one of these filters.
When I woke this morning, I thought about
all the things I failed to accomplish yesterday.
Not so I could be more organized for today,
but so I would be more overwhelmed.
I let way too many thoughts go unchecked.
The enemy has his own filter,
and I often grant that one operating privilege.
I am challenged to focus on things that are true--
not things that are facts, because the enemy
points out facts constantly--
but things that are true.
I have lovely things surrounding me,
things worthy of respect.
God's peace is attached to
thoughts about those things
because they are His kind of thoughts.
He can't have anxious, negative,
false, impure, or unjust thoughts.
My thoughts must change.
They must align with His Word
and what He says is true.
All day. Every day.
Lord, have mercy.
