Believe Me that I am in the
Father.
Put your trust in
Me.
Ask me, and I will do
whatever you ask
so the
shining-greatness of the Father
may be seen
in the Son.
If you love Me, you will do
what I say.
John 14:11-15
Jesus just asked His
disciples to
believe Him and put their trust in Him.
He told them to ask Him anything
and He would do it so that
He might bring glory
to His Father.
Believe, trust, ask.
These seem easy to do in
the theoretical
and intensely challenging
in the practical.
Sitting before Him in
the quiet of the morning,
it all seems beautifully
simple.
But simple can disappear
quickly
when sorrow,
disappointment, sickness
or any of life’s
challenges rise with us.
It is still the same as in
the quiet moments:
Believe, trust and ask.
Do what I
tell you.
My personal life may be crowded
with
small, petty happenings, altogether
insignificant.
But if I obey Jesus Christ in the
seemingly random
circumstances of life, they become pinholes
through which I see the face of God.
Then, when I stand face to face
with God,
I will discover that through my
obedience
thousands were blessed.
My Utmost for His Highest
Today, Lord, I ask that my faith
would rise with me to meet this day.
You have something
incomprehensible to give me--
an opportunity to look on the face
of the One that I love.
To stand in Your presence.
And trust You for everything.
If I simply obey You today in these things,
perhaps the shining-greatness of Who You are
can be seen in this earthen vessel.
And You would get much glory
from this life that is nothing
without You.
