His Loving Kindness

I would have been without hope
if I had not believed that I would see
the loving-kindness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord.
Be strong.
Let your heart be strong.
Yes, wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:13-14
If faith is being sure of what
we hope for, hope really is our lifeline.
It has to be kept alive.
Life unfolds in moments
and we are continually sorting out
all the life that the moments deliver.
Hopelessness comes when we
reach conclusions about those moments
that don't factor in the loving kindness
and goodness of the Lord.
It is the easiest thing to do.
Every time that I think,
"This isn't how I thought it would be,"
or I experience pain or loss or sadness,
or I can't figure out which way to turn,
I come dangerously close to deciding
that there is no hope for whatever I am facing.
I cannot go down that path.
His Word and His voice have taught me
to trust Him over the years.
But it has been His goodness and loving kindness
that have held me in trust and given me hope
when I could neither hear His voice
nor see how things would work out.
He has helped my heart be strong.
He has helped me to wait in hope.
By mercy and grace,
may I say all of my days,
Be strong my heart.
You have seen the loving kindness of the Lord
and will continue to see it, even today,
in your present today life.
Your hope is eternally present.
Wait for Him to reveal His goodness
in a way you may never have seen before.
His loving kindness fills the very air
that keeps you beating.
