He Gives Strength and Power

O Jacob, how can you say

the Lord does not see your troubles?
Have you never understood?
The Lord is the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary.
He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40

I love that these verses acknowledge
three levels of life:
soaring, running and walking.
Many days incorporate all three;
the moments that pass us by
contain challenges, joys, good news and bad.
We face responsibilities that delight us
and others that wear us out.
There are moments we are
overwhelmed by gratefulness.
There are moments we are
overwhelmed by circumstances.
But for those times when we
have no strength and haven't a thought
about soaring high on wings like eagles--
and sometimes even wondering how walking
and not fainting is even a possibility--
the Lord comes to remind us that He sees it all.
He is never weak or weary.
The good news is that those
who feel weak and powerless
are the ones who get the strength and power.
Trusting in the Lord releases those places
of strength so that we can once again
soar, run and walk
to the glory of God.
I am a solid candidate for both
power and strength this morning.
I have zero natural strength or power.
I am so grateful for His promises.
And for the people He has placed in our lives
who remind us of who He is
and who we are in Him.
I am blessed beyond measure.
In my weakness, Your strength reigns, God.
I actually carry Your resurrection power.
I so want You to be glorified
in my life today.
