He Gives Comfort

But God gives comfort
to those whose hearts are heavy.
He gave us comfort when Titus came.
2 Corinthians 7:6
What a promise we have in God.
He knows our hearts get heavy.
Even after we turn our burdens over to Him,
we can still be left with the heaviness
that they represent.
He doesn't rebuke us;
He gives comfort.

Often it comes through our friends.
"He gave us comfort when Titus came."
I can't always find comfort in solitude.
It is often found in community.
I am grateful for the Tituses in my life,
those that the Lord sends--
whether they know it or not--
to bring comfort to my heart
in the middle of life's challenges.
It is His way of showing me
that He is mindful of me.
I want to recognize those moments
when He sends "Titus."
Isolation and separation are dangerous practices.
He uses people to bring comfort.
Lord, may I spend adequate time alone
to hear Your voice.
And may I spend adequate time with people
to receive Your comfort.
I am so grateful for the community
that You have placed me in.
Thank You for the many many times
You have sent a Titus into my life.
You are so good to me.
