Tunneling through Rock

Men tunnel through the rock;
their eyes see all its treasures.
They search the sources of the rivers
and bring hidden things to light.
Job 28:10
God looked at wisdom and appraised it;
He confirmed it and tested it.
And he said to the human race,
“The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom,
and to shun evil is understanding.”
Job 28:27,28
God made us to be seekers--
he even gave us the command:
Seek and you will find.
His heart is that we would "tunnel through the rock"
and "search the sources" of things
to find that which is hidden
and bring those things into the light.
He created the mystery when He created the world.
The answers are in Him and
seeking Him is the road to discovery.
Though there are times that
the rock seems to hard
and the waters too deep,
yet will I seek Him.
And He will be found by me!
We cannot get so comfortable
with our reasons and our explanations
that we forget "all the treasure of wisdom
and knowledge are found in Christ."
Reason and science and explanations
are ever evolving.
Christ is the same always.
We get comfortable when we are assured
that the sunflower turns because it is heliotropic.
The trouble with that kind of talk.
is that it tempts us to think that we know
what the sunflower is up to.
But we don't.
The sunflower is a mystery,
Just as every single thing in the universe is.

I want the wonder that is around me
to to keep me grateful and searching--
unsatisfied with the surface explanation of things,
tunneling through the rock
to the Maker of it all.
Until wisdom and revelation
unfold and I see Him.
It is all wonder.
