The Lord is Near

The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything.
In every situation, by prayer and petition,
present your requests to God with thanksgiving.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6,7
Do not be anxious about anything.
Really? Anything?
There are a lot of situations out there.
The Lord is near.
I have to know that.
it is the reason we are “not to be anxious.”
If our natural state wasn't anxiety
when faced with circumstances beyond our control,
there would be no need for the command.
We must learn to make prayer our first response.
When we pray, we get the mind of Christ.
It is the mind of Christ
that keeps our hearts guarded.
I know the Lord wants to show me His peace
for situations I have not seen before.
A faithful friend gave me a word
that the Lord wants me to be "locked and loaded."
The weapons of our warfare are mighty in Christ.
One way to stay locked and loaded
is to pray with thanksgiving.
As soon as something pops up.
I really try to do that;
I know this isn't some new revelation.
But He wants to train me to block even
the slightest bit of anxiety.
The Lord was showing me this
with my natural heart and the irregular beats.
He is near.
His presence is my secret weapon.

Today, Lord, I surrender all those things
that want to creep in and lay heavy on my heart.
Thank You for being near to me.
I trust that You will guard my heart
as my mind becomes more like Yours through prayer.
Help me to see everything from Your perspective.
Keep me locked and loaded in Your strength this day.
My God will give me everything I need
out of the glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
