Waiting Upon God

Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in Him.
Psalm 62:5
Be still in the presence of the LORD,
and wait patiently for Him to act.
Psalm 37:7
But those who wait upon God
get fresh strength.
Isaiah 40:31
Waiting and endurance go together.
Endurance helps us keep training
when we want to be done.
Waiting patiently for Him to direct our training
keeps us in the center of His will.
Sometimes we don't want to wait;
we want to hurry up and get 'er done.
"Changing the hands on the clock doesn't change the time."
We can't rush a process that God has us in.
We cannot make our own way.
Sometimes we just get weary
and want to see some fruit of our labor;
we just want to take a break.
The training is there for a purpose;
it is designed to keep us from aborting a process
that will have great consequences.
It is designed to keep us looking to Him for strength.
"Not my will, but Yours be done" is our daily echo.
Lord, through Your grace, I choose Your way of training.
I look to You and trust You and put my hope in You.
It is ridiculous to assess my own strength
because that has nothing to do with anything.
I fix my eyes today on You,
Your strength, Your mercy and Your life.
You are more than enough for me.
