A Steadfast Spirit

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 51
This morning, I just cry out to the Lord:
Create in me a pure heart, Lord,
a heart that cares about what You care about.
I want a heart that is steadfast,
not a heart that faints or is easily shaken.
God, I am desperate to have Your presence,
to know that Your Holy Spirit is ever leading.
I need a willing spirit that will sustain me.
You are so faithful to me.
Your goodness and unfailing love
pursue me all the days of my life,
not just the days I feel Your pursuit.
You renew my strength.
I claim that promise today because
I am in need of renewal.
Thank You for not leaving me alone.
May these days that I feel the weakest
be the days that I press into You the most.
I want to want what You want.
Oh Go, renew a steadfast spirit within me.
