Agreeing With Him

I am God’s chosen daughter,
holy and dearly loved,
and I will clothe myself with compassion,
kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
I will bear with others and forgive
whatever grievances I may have against them.
I will forgive as the Lord forgave me
and over all these virtues I will put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.
I will let the peace of Christ rule my heart.
And I will be thankful.
Col. 3:12-15

Sometimes the best meditation
is to pray Scripture back over myself.
I have to find ways to agree with God's thoughts,
and reading His word over my mind
is, without question, agreement.
These verses begin with my identity in Him--
I remind myself that I am His chosen daughter,
holy and dearly loved.
Then, I declare my responsibility
to clothe myself in His character.
I will be compassionate, kind, gentle, humble and patient.
I will forgive as I have been forgiven.
Over all these things, I will put on love.
My overcoat, the first thing people see in me, has to be love.
I must see to it that peace is ruling in my heart.
And gratefulness is my key.
I choose to be grateful for everything the Lord has done.
I am praying this over me and my family today.
My prayer is that these thoughts find their way
into many hearts today.
And because our thoughts align with His,
faith is generated for all He wants
to be and do in our lives.
God, be glorified here on earth, through our lives.
By grace, may they look a little bit more like You everyday.
