The Helper, the Holy Spirit,
whom the Father will send in my name,
will teach you everything...
John 14
Yesterday Dave and I went back to the gym.
We stood in front of the Precor circuit machines
and knew that we were going to be sore.
It had been a while since we trained specific muscle groups,
but we were ready to get back in the game.
One thing I love about circuit machines are the descriptions.
I really appreciate the complete instructions
with a picture of the muscles being targeted.

Back in purposeful training mode.
I want the Holy Spirit to show me the pictures of
how He is targeting specific "muscles" for growth.
One way for muscles to get stronger
is to work them until they are exhausted.
Oh dear.
Trust and patience are two muscles
He is targeting for sure.
The Holy Spirit, living inside of me,
is my Trainer, my Helper and my Friend.
I train so that I may grow stronger in His strength.
No discipline is pleasant at the time, but painful.
In the end, however, it produces a harvest
of righteousness and peace
for those who have been trained by it.
Trust, sometimes you are a little flabby.
The Lord wants you to be stronger.
One rep at a time.

  1. Mrs. G., every time I think about training, I think about your chapel message about training at the same level you're called to play at. Thank you for this reminder; trust is going to be one of my strongest muscles, I think! :)

  2. fantastic analogy! thank you! I needed this reminder.

  3. Bek, I forgot about that message. You just helped me remember why sometimes this feels a little challenging!
Thanks Rachel! I need this reminder every day:)
