No Insignificant Moments

So here's what I want you to do,
God helping you:
Take your everyday, ordinary life—
your sleeping, eating, going-to-work,
and walking-around life—
and place it before God as an offering.
Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture
that you fit into it without even thinking.
Instead, fix your attention on God.
You'll be changed from the inside out.
Unlike the culture around you,
always dragging you down to
its level of immaturity,
God brings the best out of you,
develops well-formed maturity in you.
Romans 12:1,2

It really is about taking our everyday, ordinary lives—
our sleeping, eating, going to work lives—
and placing the moments before God
so they become so much more.
There are no insignificant moments.
The hard ones, the restful ones,
the ones filled with laughter,
the ones filled with tears
are all part of growing.
Today is a training day.
I just want today to be a kick-back day.
I don't really want to lift weights today.
This week had some moments that were hard.
In the middle of challenging moments,
you don’t always interpret; sometimes you react.
It takes a while to process and think straight.
The Lord had already given me a word
that He was strengthening my trust in Him.

I had to choose to look at my hands,
and recognize I was holding a spiritual weight.
I needed to yield to training.
I had to remember that the Holy Spirit is in me,
moving deeply and gently to grow my trust.
Lord, help me see today's moments
from Your perspective.
You are both my strength and my rest.
I trust You.
