Wonder ... Again

The world will never starve for want of wonders,
but for want of wonder.”
G. K. Chesteron
I find myself coming back to the word wonder over and over.
Each day looks the same.
The sun rises, the sun sets.
The child says, "Do it again!!"
Apparently God likes that idea.
This morning I am marveling at the wonder of the day.
Thank You Lord for doing it again.
I have so much to be thankful for...
I often want to stop the day and soak it all in.
The tree is beautiful.
Gifts are wrapped.
My dad is here.
The kids are all here
and I want to freeze frame the moment.
That is a good thing.
When we truly appreciate and take it all in,
we honor what God has done.
And He whispers,
"I am going to do it again tomorrow.
It may look a little different,
but the sun will rise and
I am going to stamp the day
with My goodness.
All over again."
Oh, to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
He could have made us
without the ability to truly enjoy life.
We could have simply existed,
going from one day to the other
without the privilege of collective memory,
without enjoyment.
But, He chose to make us in the image of Himself.
He delights in routine, in "doing it again."
He loves childlike wonder.

Today, I delight in the beauty of this day.
It looks a lot like yesterday.
I love that.
