Utterly Dependable

Further, since we have a great High Priest
set over the household of God,
let us draw near with true hearts and fullest confidence,
knowing that our inmost souls have been purified
by the sprinkling of his blood just as our bodies are cleansed
by the washing of clean water.
In this confidence let us hold on to the hope
that we profess without the slightest hesitation—
for he is utterly dependable. Hebrews

I am so grateful that it is the blood of Jesus
that enables us to draw near.
It is not our own works or how we feel.
His word tells us that we have the full confidence,
knowing that we have been purified by His blood.
This morning I am commanding my feelings to line up with His word.
There is a knowing which must override feeling.
Hold on without any hesitation
for He is utterly dependable.
Lord, would You work in my heart today
a steadfast hope which is rooted in You.
Despite my shortcomings, weaknesses and failures,
the blood You shed has the final word.
And I can boldly approach Your throne of grace
to receive mercy for my failures
and grace to help in this hour.
Mercy and grace are my gifts for today.

This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
