My Beloved

"I am my Beloved's
and He are mine
His desire is for me
Nothing can change His mind."
I have been listening to "Dove's Eyes" this morning.
Sometimes this is all we need to know.
Let me see your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely.

My beloved speaks and says to me,
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
His great love for me is my life.
This morning, I rest in the knowledge
that I am His and He is mine.

Many waters cannot quench love,
neither can floods drown it...
His voice and speech are exceedingly sweet;
yes, He is altogether lovely
[the whole of Him delights and is precious].
This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend.

Jesus, I want to come away with You.
I love Your face.
I love Your presence.
This is all that matters.

  1. I think one of my favorite word-pictures in the Word is the "dove's eyes" analogy in Song of Solomon. I don't know how true it is, but I've heard that doves can't see peripherally; they aren't distracted by other things because they only see straight ahead. Having dove's eyes for the Lord...thats the cry of the Bride.
