Psalm 23

I was reading Psalm 23
and thought of Jason Upton's
version of that psalm.
Hadn't heard that in years

Your hands reached into the depths of darkness
Your arms pulled me to the light above
Your voice spoke the word that broke my heart
Your eyes burn with holy passion, fire, and love

I love the words that he chose
This personal, majestic, mighty God of love
reaching and pulling me into His marvelous light.
His eyes burning with holiness and love--for me.
I come back to Psalm 23 often
It always points me back to
God's goodness and beauty
He leads me; He guides me; He refreshes me.
He restores my soul.
Thank You, Lord, for this day.
This day that you lead me beside still waters.
You guide me in paths of righteousness
for Your name's sake.
You are my great Shepherd and
I lack nothing.
You are with me.
I  pray that these words would
go deep into my heart today
--and the hearts of all who come upon these words--
"Your beauty and love chase after me
      every day of my life."
